Great Moments in Burning Bridges - 11-25-09

While browsing Gizmodo, I found a story I just had to talk about. According to the story, a disgruntled worker created a custom program in Mac OS X just for the purpose of quitting. While the article goes more in-depth about the story, I found the creativity of the action inspiring.

I did a little google search to find other creative ways to quit your job. The gist of many of them seemed to be more focused on ideas that would never happen, such as telling your boss that you’re having sex with his or her significant other.

Obviously that way of quitting is a great way to burn your bridge, and there’s room for improvement there. Maybe have an application for your boss tell him that you would like to talk to him, or maybe have a word processor open up and “type” out your letter of resignation. The possibilities of quitting with software are endless.
